Nichia releases 200mW high-power UVC LED

On September 21, Nichia Chemical released the 280nm high radiant flux density UVC LED plants grow light product NCSU434B, which can inactivate various viruses and bacteria including the new coronavirus, and has begun to enter the mass production stage.

On October 6, Nichia announced the start of mass production of another high radiant flux UVC LED product NC4U334BR, the size is 6.8mm x 6.8mm, the wavelength is also 280nm, and the typical radiant flux is 200mW under the condition of 7.8W input power. , Can be used to inactivate various bacteria and viruses, especially suitable for industrial water and air purification scenarios.

Nichia pointed out that in the past, industrial water and air purification application scenarios used mercury lamps for sterilization, but mercury lamps needed time to reach full power operation. In contrast, LEDs can be switched on and off immediately, which significantly reduces standby power.

Nichia said that NC4U334BR UVC LED can significantly improve the sterilization effect without affecting the service life. Previously, the use of fully available radiant flux in a given space was restricted, and the advent of NC4U334BR stimulated development opportunities for UVC LEDs in the field of industrial water and air purification.

Recently, Nichia has successively launched two UVC LED products with high radiant flux. In the future, Nichia will continue to develop UVC LED products with higher performance and reliability, and help realize a mercury-free and carbon-free society through energy conservation.
